    Bishop Richard E. Young
    Senior Pastor

Richard E. Young was born in Springfield, Ohio to the late Suffragan Bishop and Sister Horace M. Young. He is married to Arlene Smith of Grand Rapids, Michigan and is the father of three children and the grandfather to four grandchildren.

Bishop Young was first exposed to pastorship while serving as an assistant to the late Bishop William Abney in Grand Rapids, Michigan for fourteen (14) years. He also received a Doctorate Degree in theology from the Pentecostal Bible College in Tuskegee, Alabama.

In February of 1985, Bishop Young was elected Senior Pastor of Pentecostal Assembly of Fort Worth, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The name of the church was later changed to "New Life Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith." By 1993, Bishop Young also accepted the pastorship of the "Fort Worth Apostolic Church" and merged the two congregations in its facility located on E. Belknap Street. Finally, a vision to relocate to 4650 Campus Drive became a reality and the name of the church was changed to "The Chosen Vessel".

Bishop Young expanded his ministry beyond the Texas border when he was appointed Bishop and overseer of more than 90 Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., churches in North and South Carolina. His work in the Carolinas was recognized in the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership published by the American Biographical Institute. Bishop Young remains the Diocesan Bishop over the South Carolina churches.

Bishop Richard E. Young is a man with a vision for God's house and leadership for God's people.
